Last Wednesday we had our first game in the league this season. It was away to one of the favourites in the league, Nurmijärven Palloseura.
We started brightly and went ahead after just 3 minutes. Unfortunately, we let in a fluke goal, and then a few mistakes later we were 4-1 down at half time. I came onon about 60 minutes and I thought we were stronger in the last 20 minutes or so, only conceding twice in the time I was on the pitch :)
Next is a home game on Friday against NuPS Reserve, from Nummela.
The Cup game on Wednesday didn’t go so well :) The other team was from the league above and worked far better as a team. We had only played one game together before Wednesday, and it showed, unfortunately. I came on at about 60 minutes and had a good run on the right, but we didn’t get anywhere past SalReipas’ strong defence.
The next game is on Wednesday against NJS, and is our first league game.

I am now a player for Finnish Fourth division team HooGee. I have been training with them now for a few weeks and played in the first pre-season friendly last Wednesday, which we won 5-2 against the HooGee 2nd team. I am enjoying it a lot, and it is great to be playing competitive football again—the last time was probably 8 years ago already.
The club trains and plays home games in Matinkylä (view map), literally just down the road from Milja’s Grandparent’s house (note the famous ‘UFO’ water tower in the club’s badge). ‘We’ play in the Fourth division, which is split into regions, and we only play games within an hour’s driving distance. Our next game is next Wednesday in the Suomen Cup (Finnish Cup) against a team from the division above us.
This weekend I will pay my licence fee to make sure I am eligible to play in the Cup game next week. Soon I will find out my playing number, and will get my kit, too.

Lauren is here!
I have got the Nokia N82 back from Laura. She apparently never gave it back and found it last week. I'm happy to have it again, with its wireless internet and amazing camera.
