Birthdays
Happy Birthday to Nanny and Heikki who both get a bit older today :)
Finished shifts
Milja completed her Post Office work last night, well, this morning. She is pulling a 30+ hour stint and not sleeping today like she would normally. There is a bit of a rush preparing for England and getting everything sorted before we leave. Plus, she is going out soon to clean one of Hanna’s friend’s 3-story house! I will be finished with uni today, too. I have a bit of work still to...
The triplets on ice. A few weekends ago at the temporary ice rink in the middle of Helsinki.
Playing tennis with India
My 3D animation project that was handed in today. Not completely happy with it, but it’s far better to hand at least something in than perfect it and miss the deadline.
7's the magic number
I had my last of 7 exams at noon today. All have gone at least reasonably well. A lot of weight off my shoulders, giving me a few days to breath before out trip to England on Saturday, and some time to go Christmas shopping.
Bolt Cola (flash site) →
Another project I have done this term, a flash-based site for fictional drink, Bolt Cola.
Testing, testing - N82
I am currently in the proud possession of a sparkling new Nokia N82, an expensive Smartphone with a bundle of amazing features. I think my favourite is the WLAN (wireless internet), but having Fifa 07 on a phone is also a plus :) It also has a very decent 5 megapixel camera. Laura was given it to test but loves her N90 Communicator too much to have time to use another phone. Thus it has fallen...
Late night
Last night Annie and I went to Laura’s (as usual on a weekend), while Milja went to work. We made food, talked for a couple of hours, then watched Bobby, a film about Robert F Kennedy’s assassination (it’s a really good film). The film finished at about 3am, Laura was asleep and Annie was dozing. I was surprisingly awake, as I normally fall asleep by at least 1am if we’re...
Recap
Adam Wilkinson, a friend from England, came over last Wednesday for 5 days. We did the usual things, going round Helsinki, the churches, the sights, some Christmas shopping etc. Last Thursday was Finland’s Independance Day, and the country’s 90th birthday. It was a bank holiday and so I had no school and Annie had no work. On Saturday we caught the Blues ice hockey game, and the...
A short film I made for a course at uni.
Period 3 Timetable →
Only 6 lessons a week (only 5 every other week), Friday off (and Monday off every other week)….. Not too shabby! We all need a rest after this really hectic period.

Working at the Post Office
Milja got a job a few weeks ago working at the Post Office sorting office in Helsinki. She has 10 nights scheduled starting on Sunday, working from 10pm until 5am. It will be hard for her to adjust to working nights, but she will earn nearly 1000 EUR in her 10 nights work. This morning she got a call asking her to work tonight. She agreed and is now fast asleep, preparing herself for 7 hours...
Last week
Today is the first day of my last week of lessons this year. I have two weeks of exams and presentations and project deadlines starting next week, though, so I will definitely not be finished on Friday!
